Sharpen your game or enjoy a friendly tournament at one of the 12 courts within Kingsmill Resort. Designed to be a haven for the racket set and place to serve up a little fun!

Tennis Instruction

Kingsmill Resort's Racquet Sports programs are overseen by Davy Hairston PTR PPR who brings a passion for instruction of players at all ages and levels, professional and Division I playing experience, and creative customer service experience from managing hotels in exotic locations. The goal of the program are to enhance your Kingsmill Resort experience with new and creative ways to enjoy tennis and pickleball as the sports of a lifetime.

Junior Tennis

Our junior tennis program are based on a structured pathway that serves as a guide that helps players acquire different skills allowing them to fully develop their game. Players will be placed into clinics based on their age, ability, and physical height and strength to ensure success.

Our goal is to foster a lifelong love for tennis in all our students in a FUN, energetic environment that emphasizes sportsmanship as well as athletic and technical skills.

Tennis Club Features

Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned player, we have all the equipment and tools you need to enjoy your best match yet. For any questions or to request court time, please call 757-253-3945.

  • 12 spectacularly maintained courts – 10 Clay (two with LED lights), and two hard (with lines for four Pickleball Courts)
  • Experienced, friendly Pros for private lessons, camps, and clinics for adults and juniors
  • Fully-stocked Pro Shop
  • Complete locker room facilities
  • Ball machines, hoppers, and demo racquet rentals
  • Stringing and re-gripping services

 

Resort Court Fees

Court Fees:

  • Complimentary 60-minute court reservations and rental racquets are included in the daily resort amenity fee
  • Reservations over 60 minutes or for guests who do not have the amenity fee included, rates as follows:
    • $32 per court per hour ($16 per court for 1/2 hour)
    • $40 per court (without rental racquets) for unlimited play subject to court availability (90 minutes guaranteed)
    • $50 per court for unlimited play (with up to four rental racquets), subject to court availability (90 minutes guaranteed)

Additional Information:

  • Must check-in at the Tennis Pro Shop before play.
  • Reservations are not required, but are recommended.
  • Proper tennis attire and proper tennis shoes required.  No running shoes, cross trainers, basketball shoes, etc. on clay courts.
  • All rates subject to change.
  • Adults must accompany children at check-in.

The Kingsmill Tennis Club offers a number of activities for your business group. Let us run a fun one- or two-hour instructional clinic just for you or we can set up a round robin or traditional draw tournament for your players.

  • Round Robin Tournament-includes 2 hours of court time; a member of our professional staff will organize and run your event, determining winners if desired.  Eight person minimum.
    Cost: $40 per person
  • “Slam” Instructional Clinic-enjoy a fast-paced, one-hour teaching session with one of our pros.  Three person minimum.
    Cost: $25.00 per person, 1 hour
  • “Grand Slam” Instructional Clinic—twice the fun of the Slam clinic, this is a two hour class with fast-paced drills and strategy.  Three person minimum.
    Cost: $45.00 per person, 2 hours
